SAFD EMS Services

The San Angelo Fire Department is the only Emergency Medical Service provider for the City of San Angelo. With 165 classified positions. The Fire Department has trained and certified all personnel to a Paramedic level of certification.  We provide Ambulance service to all of Tom Green County with response to over 10,000 ambulance call outs a year. The city has an approximate population of 90,000 and growing.

San Angelo Fire Department Emergency Medical Services provides advance life support and transports patients to Medical Facilities in the city. We are also the only provider of transport services for those needing transport to medical facilities outside the City of San Angelo.

We currently have 10 Medic Units. We run 4 frontline ambulances with a 5th ambulance to be manned and staffed starting in 2009.
