About San Angelo
The City of San Angelo is located at the confluence of the North and South Concho Rivers and is the regional center for a large portion of southwest Texas. The county population is approximately 120,000 and growing. San Angelo is the home to Goodfellow Air Force Base, Angelo State University, and two professional sports teams; the San Angelo Colts baseball team and the San Angelo Stampede football team. The San Angelo Coliseum and Fairgrounds holds one of the major shows in the national livestock show circuit known as the San Angelo Stock Show & PRCA Rodeo. The event, held in February, includes the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association where competitors vie for more than $100, 000 in prize money.
